Dr. Praveen Thappily is a highly skilled and experienced multidisciplinary professional excelling in teaching and scientific research. His expertise spans various domains, including electrochemistry, electronics, materials synthesis, and Machine Learning.
His doctoral research delved into the intricate realm of charge transport and device applications of a noval semiconducting material.
His capabilities range from designing innovative industrial electrolyzers tailored for large-scale hydrogen production to conducting advanced research on electric vehicle batteries, with a particular focus on degradation modelling and quality analysis. Additionally, Dr. Thappily demonstrates a high level of proficiency in material design, nanoparticle incorporation, characterization, and device manufacturing, contributing significantly to advancements in various technological applications. Moreover, his adeptness in developing cutting-edge electronics products, especially in embedded systems, PCB design, and Internet of Things (IoT) applications, underscores his commitment to fostering innovation and technological progress. Dr. Thappily has been actively involved in various R&D endeavours, notably including the Automotive Batteries Reuse (ABR Project), where he established dedicated experimental setups and implemented stringent security measures for high-capacity battery testing.
His contributions extended to determining the battery's state of health, facilitating the development of degradation models for EV batteries to predict their lifespan and explore potential second-life applications.
Leveraging diverse modelling approaches, including machine learning, he enhanced the accuracy of remaining life predictions. Additionally, in the Design of a Novel Industrial Electrolyzer for Kohler Company (Kohler Project), Dr. Thappily customized electrolyzer configurations to meet the specific requirements of Kohler Company's industrial electrolysis needs. His involvement encompassed conducting electrochemical experiments, optimizing hydrogen production processes, and providing crucial support for the development of bulk electrolyzers at the Kohler site.
Furthermore, he successfully spearheaded projects like the "Intelligent Electrode for Hydrogen Production" and the "Smart Charger System for Electric Vehicles," where his expertise in conceptualization, electronics circuit design, PCB design, system programming, and bench testing played pivotal roles in driving innovation and technological advancement.
